  1. ENTERTAINMENT IN IMBODEN
All my life I heard that there was nothing to do in Imboden. I’d like to spend a few lines telling anyone who cares to read what can be done for entertainment in Imboden. When I was a young man, we used to go to music parties. Those that could play an instrument, sing or just wanted to listen would gather at someone’s house bring something to eat(pot luck) and stay till after midnight listening to the music, eating and visiting. Today there are several places you can hear live music, cafe’s, Old Union at Birdell, Hardy area, all of these places have free music. There’s plenty of local ballgames to attend and the admission is very reasonalble. The schools have other activities that don’t even charge for admission. Many of the local churches have fun activities in addition to their regular services. If none of that perks your interest you can always create your own entertainment at home by playing cards or board games, reading a good book from our local library or just visiting with family or friends. Most of us have access to over a hundred channels of TV and or access to the internet, facebook, myspace and entertaining websites like this one. I find that not having something to do is not my problem, it’s having enough time to do all the things I want to do. If you’re bored try some of the activities I suggested and you too may find you just don’t have enough time to do everything you want to do and never again say ” there’s just nothing to do in Imboden”

  2. Mike hit it right on. I have been retired for 9 years, and have not been bored one minute.I still work part time, (something fun I really like to do. )I am involved with my church and visit shutins and homebound.
I love music also, and attend concerts and other music activities when possible. I am also a member of the civil war dancers in Pocahontas. (invites any new members who would like to try it). So Imboden is a good place to live. My Mother also said this, since she moved here from another state 10 years ago.
