Brian Kent Meridith,74 years of Cherokee Village, Arkansas passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Imboden, the son of Charles “Bud” Tibbles Meridith and Barbara Virginia (Dent) Meridith. 

Brian graduated from Sloan Hendrix High School in 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970, and served as a SGT until honorably discharged. He served in Vietnam in 1970-71 earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. 

Brian and Pamela Ada (Shelton) Meridith celebrated 40 years of marriage and raised two sons, Spencer and Conley, of which he was immensely proud. He taught his sons the value and reward of an eager work ethic often quoting the motto, “God loves a working man.” As family leader, he taught the perfect beauty of God’s creation through hiking, camping, bicycling, kayaking and fishing. In childhood, he rode his horse, patches along the gravel roads of Annieville. 

He was knowledgeable about the trees and wildlife in the woods. As a self-employed builder, Brian built many local homes, commercial buildings, and church buildings. Later, he retired as an over-the-road truck driver. God blessed Brian with an artistic talent on canvas, as well as woodworking and carpentry; leaving a creative legacy and many cherished heirlooms. Family and friends called him “The Quiet Man” though he enjoyed making his grandchildren laugh. Through his strength of character and body, he showed his bravery many times in life and in death. 

Brian was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village, with his home church being Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Annieville. His salvation and love for Jesus Christ were made public at the age of 17; living his life and leading his family to love the Lord. 

Remaining to cherish Brian’s memory are his wife, Pamela; children, Marshall Conley (Atalya) Meridith of Paragould and Spencer Robert Ostrom of California; grandchildren, Silas James Ostrom, Willow Rosalie Meridith, Zane Rollings, and Avery Rollings; brother, Barry Dent Meridith of Ravenden; sisters, Beverly Lemmons (Bill) of Pocahontas, and Barbara Jean Hitt of Walnut Ridge;several nieces and nephews; several other relatives, and many friends.

Preceding Brian in death are his parents, Bud Meridith and Virginia Meridith Davis; and a sister, Belita Jane Meridith.

Services will be held at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Annieville, on Saturday, April 26. 2025, with visitation at 1 pm and memorial at 2 pm with Jerry Clements officiating. Interment of cremains and placement of a military headstone will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at a later date.
