Sharp County officials report a murder suicide that occurred on Sunday, April 7th on Raccoon Lane near Smithville in Sharp County.
Sharp County deputies attempted to do a welfare check on Genevieve Witt after a relative had called and told authorities she had not been heard from since the tornado and they were concerned.
Law enforcement arrived at the residence and observed two vehicles in the driveway. Deputies approached the residence and attempted to make contact.
Deputies made entry into the residence and discovered Mrs. Witt and her boyfriend Danny Garner deceased on the floor.
Authorities report the female victim appeared to have injuries consistent with blunt force trauma on several parts of her body.
Garner was found to have a self-inflicted gunshot to his head according to investigators.
Authorities report the two had just recently moved to the area and were from Florida.
