Helen Marie Gunter Mitchell, 88, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born on September 20, 1936, in Alton, Missouri, to John Gunter and Minnie Grissom Mitchell. A devoted member of the Imboden Church of Christ, Helen led a life rich in faith, love, and kindness.

Helen’s life was one of deep devotion to her family, and she was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Coy E. Mitchell. Her passing also mourns the loss of two granddaughters, Heather Dawn Hart and Adriana, and a grandson, Jeremy Vaniel Hart, who all left a lasting impact on her heart. She was further preceded by a beloved son-in-law, Jearold DuBois, as well as her dear siblings: Bessie Griffith, Anita Eversole, Raymond Gunter, Edgar Gunter, John D. Gunter, and Norman Gunter. These loved ones now rest in the embrace of eternal peace.

Helen is survived by her son, Larry (Vickie) Mitchell, and her three daughters, Janit (Ronnie) Hart, Debbie DuBois, and Karin (Randy) Ward. She leaves behind a proud legacy of ten grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Tracy Miesner, Jamie (Tony) Reed, Keith (Leslie) Davis, Rebecca (Chirs) Taylor, Carla Mitchell, Christopher (Jennifer) Hart, Jason (Megan) DuBois, Christine (Jeremy) Naylor, Corey (Stephanie) Ward, and Codey Ward; twenty three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving her is her brother-in-law, Everett Mitchell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends whose lives she touched with warmth, grace, and unwavering love.

Helen’s legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew her. The memories of her kindness, compassion, and the enduring love she gave to all will remain a treasured gift to all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM. All services will be held in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chesser Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Keith Davis, Christopher Hart, Jason DuBois, Corey Ward, Codey Ward and Eric Hart.

Honorary pallbearers include Hunter Naylor, Drew DuBois, David DuBois, Zac Hart, Reece Miesner, Jesse Miesner, Hayden Davis, Levi Ward and Gary Johnson.
