Charles Leon Fitzgerald, 77, of Portia, died April 8, 2025, at his residence.
Born August 1, 1947, in Lepanto, son of Hebert Fitzgerald and Nina Neal Thompson. He worked in construction and for the Lawrence County Cooperative School in Portia, helping and driving a bus. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and playing billiards.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Leonard Thompson; siblings, Jerry, James, Nellie, Shirley, and Hazel.
Survivors include his two sons, Chuck (Amy) Fitzgerald of Walnut Ridge, and Cory (Courtney) Fitzgerald of Powhatan; one daughter, Daina (Mike) Witt of Hoxie; twelve grandchildren, Katelyn, Chelsea, Corbin, Elly, Hunter, Landon, Tanya, Thomas, Tiffany, Samantha, Shelby, and Beth; six great grandchildren, E.J., Donnie, Titus, Jaclynn, Avery, and M.J.; four siblings, Yogi, Larry (Melinda), Susie, and Brenda (Chris); and many other relatives and friends.
Private services will be held in the Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home.
