The Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery at Mammoth Spring and the nearby Dam 3 Access to the Spring River have experienced significant flooding damage over the past few days. While the rain has stopped, the area is still unsafe for visitors. We ask that you please stay away from the area until repairs are made.
Additionally, railroad personnel are using the railroad crossing near the hatchery to transport materials and equipment for repair efforts. This makes the crossing hazardous for both the public and those working to restore the area. Having additional people and vehicles in the area is also blocking access to the railroad crossing, which is causing delays in repair work.
