On March 27, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Izard County Deputies were dispatched to the 3400 block of Dolph Road for reports of an unknown man threatening people with a hatchet and a gun. Dispatch advised responding deputies the suspect was on a side-by-side atv in the field near the residence.

Upon arrival by the first Deputy, the suspect was identified as Simon Ducker, 45, of Pineville. The Deputy hollered for Ducker to not drive off. Ducker then pulled the side-by-side next to the Deputy where the deputy was able to secure a 12-gauge shotgun and detain Ducker. Ducker was told why the Deputy was there and the nature of the call. Ducker stated he had been at the residence to plant flowers and to spend time with the lady who lived there. Ducker said some kids came and started some “shit”.

Victim 1 in the case stated he was with victim 2 and about to drive through the field when a male he did not know (Ducker) parked at the end of the driveway in a side-by-side. Victim 1 said Ducker asked them if they needed some gas. Victim 1 stated he told Ducker no, and they pulled further in the field. They noticed Ducker had pulled through the yard into the field. Victim 1 stated when he talked to Ducker again, he was making off the wall comments, including he was going to slit someone’s throat. Victim 1 asked Ducker up to 10 times to leave. The Victim said one of the times, he asked Ducker to leave, Ducker stated maybe he should slit his throat. Victim 1 said he had a firearm in the vehicle and he laid it on his lap for safety reasons and asked Ducker to leave several more times. Ducker stated he had a gun and he would “blow his ass out of the water”. Ducker then grabbed the shotgun off the dash of the side-by-side and aimed it at the truck victim 1 and 2 were in. Victim 1 said he then drove back to the house from the field and Ducker put the gun down and grabbed a hatchet and began walking from the field to Victim 1’s vehicle. Ducker then walked toward the porch where Victim 2 was holding a firearm. Victim 1 said Victim 2 had to push Ducker off him with his firearm. Ducker walked toward the field and hit a fence post with the hatchet.

Victim 3 said no one knew who Ducker was and he had told her his name was Mike Taylor. She said she did not invite him there to plant flowers as he had stated. She also stated Ducker had stood by his side-by-side for a long time and watched her house. When Victim 3 went outside to complete some chores, Ducker followed her inside her residence. She stated Ducker then began to hug her and hold her hand. She stated she pushed him off, but he continued. She said she asked Ducker to go out in the yard. When Ducker went into the yard he hugged her again. She asked Ducker if he was waiting on Victim 1 and 2, and Ducker stated he was not.

During a post Miranda interview, Ducker denied all the allegations and stated Victim 1 had pointed a gun at him and that he was trying to leave. Ducker stated he was there to plant flowers. Ducker denied giving a false name. He also stated no one had invited him over to plant flowers. Ducker stated he gets into the wrong things that make a mess. He also stated it was his bad and he was guilty.

Deputies smelled a strong odor of intoxicants on Ducker. A portable breath test showed Ducker was over twice the legal limit of alcohol.

At the time of this incident, Ducker was out on bond from the Izard County Circuit Court on the charges of DWI, possession of a controlled substance, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. That bond has been revoked.

In the latest case, Ducker has been charged in the Izard County Circuit Court with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, public intoxication, driving on a suspended driver’s license, terroristic threatening, and two counts of aggravated assault. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
