Law enforcement reports a man has been arrested after fatally shooting a hotel employee over loud music.
Gary Frans is charged with first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault according to court records.
On March 16th, Mountain Home Police officers responded to a reported shooting at the Mountain Home Inn.
Officers responding discovered Frans in his hotel room with a gun at his feet. Frans was arrested without incident.
Two female witnesses told police they were the cleaning crew and were cleaning a room next door to Frans.
The two women told officers the desk worker was walking down the hall to give instructions to the cleaning crew.
Investigators say Frans had put in a complaint about the music the cleaning crew was playing.
Court documents state the front desk worker told Frans to go back to his room and mind his own business, that’s when Frans pointed his gun at the victim.
Witnesses stated the victim said multiple times, “Don’t shoot me.”
Frans allegedly fired three shots, killing the clerk.
Authorities believe Frans was heavily intoxicated at the time of the shooting.
A breath test administered at the Baxter County Jail registered at .27.
Frans is being held in the Baxter County Jail on a $500,000 bond with his next court appearance on April 7th.
