On March 17, AGFC personnel from the Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery stocked nearly 200 Tiger Trout at the Jim Griffin Access on the Bull Shoals Tailwater (White River). Fish averaged 12.5 inches at the time of stocking.
The AGFC introduced Tiger Trout to the White River in 2020 to provide its anglers with a more diverse fishing opportunity.
Since 2020, Tiger Trout have demonstrated excellent growth rates, with multiple anglers catching Tiger Trout over 25 inches.
Hatchery personnel will stock a second cohort of Tiger Trout later this year.
The AGFC regulates Tiger Trout in the Bull Shoals and Norfork Tailwaters with a 24-inch minimum length limit and one-fish daily limit.
