Marvin Randolph Gilbert, 67, of Smithville passed from this life on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born on March 10, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Andrew and Pauline (Smith) Gilbert. Marvin owned and operated Gilbert’s Garage and Auto Sales in Smithville. He was a phenomenal mechanic, loved his family, fast cars, and helping others. He was of the Baptist belief. 

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Gilbert; brother, Edward Gilbert; and sister, Barbara Gilbert. 

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years Phyllis Gilbert of the home; son, Robert Gilbert of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Austin Gilbert, Ian Talley, and Lillian Talley; mother-in-law, Phyllis Tucsnak; daughter-in-law, Angela Gilbert; bonus daughter, Shawna Case of Mountain Home; bonus grandchildren, Ryan and Dustin; and a host of other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 5 until 6 p.m. at Smithville Baptist Church.
