Authorities report a Jonesboro man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill a police officer and bomb his house.

Zakary Lee Swanson age 25, was arrested and is being held on $100,000 bond for felony terroristic threatening.

Swanson drove to the Batesville Police Department at 4:17 a.m. Feb. 1 and told an officer he needed to be arrested because he was driving a stolen vehicle.

Authorities say Swanson referenced a previous case where he claimed another Batesville officer pointed a gun at him and falsely charged him with assault.

Swanson then told the officer that when he is released from jail, he would kill the officer, according to court documents.

Swanson began ranting and threatened to find the officer’s address and bomb his house.

Law enforcement later determined the vehicle in question belonged to a Missouri church and was used by a Piggott, Arkansas, sober house. Swanson had permission to use the vehicle to drive people to work in Piggott, but not to drive to Batesville.

Authorities were told that Swanson left in the van but did not return.

Swanson has a $100,000 bail set, he remains in the Independence County Jail.

Swanson has a criminal history with charges ranging from Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia to Assault On Family Members.
