Authorities responded to an accident reported on Hwy 67 (Walnut Ridge) near Lawrence Road 429 shortly after 6:30pm on Wednesday.
Walnut Ridge Police and Walnut Ridge Fire along with medical units responded to what was described by officers as a “major crash”.
WRPD once on scene requested additional assistance from Lawrence County units in the area along with the Arkansas State Police.
A medical helicopter was requested to the scene but was unable to fly due to weather conditions.
Injuries were reported, at least one person was transported to LMH via ambulance and the Lawrence County Coroner was requested to the scene.
Additional units from both Black Rock Police and Hoxie Police responded to assist WRPD with traffic.
Traffic was diverted around the area for well over an hour.
Walnut Ridge Fire and Walnut Ridge Police were on scene until approximately 8pm.
