Batesville Man Arrested After Authorities Discover Thousands Of Pornographic Photos Involving Children And Animals

Court documents show a Batesville man was arrested after police say they found tens of thousands of pornographic images and videos on the suspect’s cell phone.

Authorities arrested 36-year-old Nathaniel Lloyd Nerdin on four counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip about child sexual abuse material uploaded to an email address on a server on Oct. 9, 2024.

The Independence County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Arkansas State Police about the tip. Batesville Police Department was also contacted after it was discovered the suspect lived within the city limits.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for the email address and a possible owner identities as Nathaniel Nerdin.

Investigators discovered a possible phone name and address for the suspect.

On Jan. 9th, Batesville police served a search warrant on Nerdin’s College Street address.

Nerdin was informed of his rights and agreed to speak with investigators.

Nerdin told investigators that Dropbox had contacted him “about some porn,” according to the affidavit. “He then went on to say that he had been paying for some porn, but that they were sending him porn that he was not asking for.”

He reportedly told investigators that he “got rid of his account” but “he had been getting porn from PornHub.”

During the search, officers seized several electronics, including Nerdin’s cell phone.

Authorities say “After the phone was downloaded, there were 32,157 images and 1,743 videos that were 90 percent porn,”

Court records show “The porn was adult porn, animal porn, and child porn.”

Police arrested Nerdin on Tuesday, Feb. 4th, he was booked him into the Independence County Jail and has a February 11th court date.
