Mable Louise Childers Humble went to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the age of 103.
Mable was born on September 11, 1921, to Ruth and W.G. Childers at Wardell, Arkansas. She married Earl Raymond Humble on September 8, 1941. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marilyn; Earl, her husband of 66 years; both parents, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter Ruth H. Miller of Ballwin, MO; two sons, David Earl (Hiroko) of Kawasaki, Japan and Daniel Raymond (Larna) of Brinkley, AR; her six grandchildren are Jonathan Humble (Claudia), Jeffrey Humble (Cristina), Kara DiCarlo (Vince), Rachel Eckels (Clark), Mitsuko Hennagin, Andrew Humble. The seven great- grandchildren are Henry Humble; Eva, Nico and Nora DiCarlo; Aika Hennagin; Imogen Eckels; Charlie Ray Humble; two surviving brothers are Billy and Paul Childers (Janice) and several nephews and nieces, all very dear to her.
She attended Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Seminary. She was a pastor’s wife in many churches across Arkansas and Texas for over 60 years. She served in the Office of the Academic Dean as an assistant to the Registrar at Williams Baptist University until her retirement in December 1986. She taught women’s Sunday School classes for over 50 years in several churches. She was also an excellent gardener and seamstress, a woman devoted to her faith and her family.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 6, 2024, at 10 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Bro. Jake Guenrich and Bro. Jeral Swain officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Clements, Steve Corder, JR Cox, Bob McNeal, Phillip Midkiff, and Chris Thompson. Interment will follow in the Bassett Cemetery in Bassett Arkansas.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 P.M. till 3:30 P.M. in the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.
