Leonard “Sam” Gene Simmons, 77 of Hoxie passed away suddenly on December 23, 2024, in the St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born January 24, 1947, in Saffell, son of the late Willie and Pauline Christian Simmons. He spent most of his life as a farmer and attended Faith Tabernacle Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Roy Simmons; and one sister, Mildrene Simmons.
Survivors include his two sons, Rickey Simmons of Sedgwick and Jimmy Simmons of Hoxie; two grandchildren, Haley Simmons, and Tyler (Tina) Simmons; five great grandchildren, Lilly, Maverick, Devon, Gracelynn, and Annabell; two brothers, Kenneth Simmons of Judsonia, and Otis Simmons of Wabbaseka; two sisters, June Semonds of McCroy, and Joanner Noble of Hoxie; his wife, Carolyn Cummings Simmons of Walnut Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service will be Monday, December 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Strangers Home Cemetery.
