Authorities in Lawrence County were notified of a road rage incident on Hwy 63 Sunday night that landed a man in jail.
Shortly before 9pm, authorities received a 911 call from a victim stating a suspect had pointed a firearm at both driver and passenger in a road rage incident.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Trooper from the Arkansas State Police were in the area and conducted traffic stops on both the caller and the suspect vehicles near Jordan’s in Portia on Hwy 63.
As the suspect was being questioned, law enforcement detected the strong odor of marijuana, a probable cause search was conducted, both the marijuana and firearm were recovered in the search.
Authorities say the man admitted to brandishing the weapon but he denied pointing it in the victims direction.
The suspect, identified as Gregory Lowe was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession Of A Controlled Substance and Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearm.
Lowe was taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
The vehicle was removed by Cook’s Towing of Walnut Ridge.
