From the CCFD: Please keep this family in your prayers.
Retired Firefighter Melvin Presser passed away Monday December 2, 2024. Melvin, Betty and his family have always been heavily tied to our department. Melvin retired from the CCFD after 25 years of service. His son Aaron Presser was a former firefighter, his son in-law Eddie Johnson is a current firefighter, and his nephew Jody Presser is a Lieutenant, all within our department.
Melvin was a great man, soft spoken and always wise with his thoughts and ideas. I had served with him and never remember him having a bad word to say, to or about anyone. He was always friendly, I have found memories of discussions with him at the local quick mart and sometimes in his front yard. He will truly be missed by all.
We hate to see him go and we grieve with the family, but at the Cave City Fire Department the memory of his dedication, service and love for our community will go on.
Visitation will be tonight Wed. the 4th @ 6:00pm at Qualls with funeral services on Thurs. the 5th at Cave City First Free Will Baptist Church. Burial following at Lees Chapel.
Thanks Chief Penn
