Somebody started their Christmas shopping early but forgot to pay on their way out.

On Sunday, November 17, officers were dispatched to 3000 E. Highland Drive to investigate a theft. They were met by security and shown a video of two suspects taking merchandise without paying for it. A customer had witnessed the “get-a-way” vehicle and gave the license plate number to dispatch. The information was broadcast to the Arkansas State Police so they would be on the lookout for the vehicle.

While officers were still at the scene on Highland Drive, Dispatch advised that ASP Troopers had located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The reported stolen items were located in the vehicle. Two Memphis residents were taken into custody and appeared before Judge Boling this afternoon. Both were issued a $150,000 cash or surety bond.

Great teamwork goes to the JPD Charlie Squad and Arkansas State Police for catching these grinches and recovering the stolen merchandise! #BetterTogether
