Independence County Deputies arrested a Cave City man on Sunday after he led them in a high-speed chase causing the suspects vehicle to go airborne.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, officers observed a dark-colored vehicle driving left of the center.

Law enforcement activated their emergency lights when the suspect vehicle almost struck another patrol vehicle.

The suspect identified as 48 year old Rodney Vance of Cave City then drove through the cemetery on Cemetery Road and continued driving into oncoming traffic lanes with little to no regard according to law enforcement.

The suspect drove into a ditch, around patrol cars and continued to elude authorities.

Deputies set up spikes at an intersection but the suspect drove through ditches to avoid them. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, ramping West 6th St., causing the vehicle to go airborne.

The vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of 5th St. and Vine St., when deputies pulled Rodney Vance out of the vehicle and placed him in into custody.

Deputies found a pill bottle with several different medications behind the driver’s seat during a search of the vehicle.

Vance was taken to the Independence County Detention Center charged with multiple charges.
