In September of 2024, the Stone County Sheriff’s Office received information that child pornography was being downloaded at a residence in Stone County.

After receiving the information, Lieutenant Detective Jennifer Osborn launched an investigation along with other members assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force “ICAC”.

During the course of the investigation a suspect was identified, and a Search Warrant was acquired.

Investigators with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security, and Harrison Police Department then executed the Search Warrant Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at a residence in the 12000 block of Highway 9 just south of Mountain View. As a result, David Scott Slauson, 49 of Mountain View was arrested and charged with 32 counts of Pandering or Possessing Visual Sexually Explicit Conduct involving a Child, each a Class “C” Felony.

The investigation is still ongoing, and charges may still be increased, changed, or additional charges added pending the final review of the case by the Prosecuting Attorney. All final charges are filed by the Prosecutor’s Office, and all bonds are set by a judge. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Slauson is currently being held at the Stone County Detention Center without bond.
