From Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell:
On 09/29/24 a storage unit was broken into that was storing several new HVAC unit owned by the Pocahontas Housing Authority. It was discovered on 10/3/24 and reported to the Sheriffs Office. That same day we were able to identify a suspect with the help of Lawrence County Sheriff Tony Waldrupe and deputies. We recovered one item that day and made an arrest.
After further investigation today we were able to recover the rest of the HVAC units. Total value was around $47,000.00.
This is still ongoing and we will have more updates later. I’m grateful for my crew who worked hard to get these units back! Great Job to everyone involved!
