Authorities report a man from Magnuss Arkansas was arrested in Independence County after a lengthy drug investigation.
Antonio Moncada-Paz was arrested after officers with the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Independence County Sheriff’s Office, began an investigation in April.
Investigators suspected that Moncada-Paz was distributing meth through a series of couriers and local drug dealers.
Investigators also learned that Moncada-Paz had been previously indicted and served time in a federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine.
On Thursday October 10th a search warrant was executed on Moncada-Paz’s home.
Officers allegedly confiscated 2,140 grams (4.7 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine, two firearms, and $45,384 in cash.
One of the firearms had been reported stolen out of White County. Moncada-Paz was arrested for trafficking meth over 200 grams, delivery of a controlled substance greater than 10 grams, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a firearm by certain persons, maintaining drug premises within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone (church), and theft by receiving.
