On Tuesday morning at a news conference held by the Alma Police, law enforcement officially named Billy Jack Lincks as the suspect in the abduction of 6 year old Morgan Nick in 1995.
Advancements in DNA recovery and processing along with the recovery of a vehicle formerly owned by Lincks have led to today’s announcement.
When Morgan disappeared from the ball field in 1995, witnesses described seeing a red truck with a white camper, Lincks owned a truck fitting the description and was interviewed but cleared by investigators at the time.
Investigators focusing on finding the truck were able locate it(current owner was unaware of its history), the truck was processed by the FBI in 2020. Fibers including hair were discovered during the process.
In July 2023, evidence vacuum recovered by the FBI was submitted to a lab in Texas where hair discovered without roots was tested and showed to be a DNA match to specimens provided by Morgan’s family.
Lincks was charged with sexual solicitation of a child just weeks after Morgan’s disappearance.
Lincks died in 2000.
Investigators say this new evidence is proof that Morgan was at one point in the truck.
Investigators say they will now focus on Lincks habits, whereabouts, travels in an effort to find Morgan Nick. Law enforcement ask if you have any information about this or any other case to call 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678)
