Jerry Joe Ballard, 91 of Walnut Ridge, passed away September 20, 2024, in the Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born August 11, 1933, in Hoxie, son of the late Ollen Ballard and Ruth Risenhoover Ballard. He graduated from Hoxie High School in 1951 and was united in marriage to Myra Oldham on June 24, 1954. He was a district manager for the Sterling Store and Walmart; he retired as a car salesman. Jerry loved the Cardinals, drinking coffee, reading the paper, and visiting with people.
He is preceded by his parents; his loving wife, Myra in 2023; one son, Lance Ballard; and a daughter, Teresa Ballard.
Survivors include one son, Jerry (Blair) Ballard of Bentonville; one daughter, Kim (Lee) Holmes of Fayetteville; one daughter-in-law, Shari Ballard of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Trey (Morgan) Ballard of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Andrew (Christin) Ballard and Joshua Ballard both of Bentonville, Payton (Lexi) Poole of Little Rock, Kaitlin Holmes and Lee David (Morgan) Holmes Jr both of Fayetteville, Jack Ballard of Charlotte, NC, and Jon Ballard of Marquette, MI; eight great grandchildren, Elina, Holden, Zeppelin, Piper, Charlie, Landon, Emma, and Jade; one brother, Tony Ballard of Columbia, MO; and a sister, Vada Ballard Smith of Walnut Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service will be Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge with Pastor Jeremy Hopper officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Dennis and Glenn Murphy. The family would like to express its appreciation to the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center staff for their care, love, and devotion.
