Decentra Maria Murray was born December 13, 1968, to the late Louella Magee and Eddie Walker. Centra was loved by all that came in contact with her. Her infectious smile could light up any room.
She accepted Christ at a very early age and was baptized at Holden Avenue Church of Christ in Newport, AR. She later moved to Walnut Ridge, AR where she joined Free Street Church of Christ under the Pastoralship of Pastor Loyd Clark, where she served faithfully for many years.
Centra was a graduate of Newport High School and studied at Heritage University. Decentra was a certified CNA and worked as a Health Care Provider for many years. She was the sole care provider for her granny until her passing. She was a lover of the outdoors, from gardening to growing beautiful flowers. Centra also served in the United States Army Reserve. She was also the mom to her dogs.
Centra leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband, Arthur Murray of North Little Rock; one sister, Nichetra Magee of Little Rock; three brothers, Antonio (Deedra) Jones of Jonesboro, Craig and Glenn Walker both of St. Louis, MO; five special nephews, Antonio Jones Jr., Anthony Sullivan, Raylen Berry, and Trelan Magee all of Jonesboro, and Cortney Marcus of Little Rock; one special uncle, Albert (Carolyn) Burton of Newport; and a host of relatives and friends of Newport.
Memorial Services will be held, Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11 A.M. in the Newmount Zion Baptist Church in Jonesboro, with Lloyd Clark, Pastor DeAndra Warren, Rev. Dr. Ray Scales, and Albert Burton all officiating. Interment of her cremains will be in the Post Oak Cemetery near Newport.
