The Arkansas State Police has been requested to investigate an inmate death at the Lawrence County Detention Center in Walnut Ridge.
Authorities confirmed that Derrick Wayne Metz, age 42, of Walnut Ridge, passed away on Sunday, August 25th after being transported to a local hospital while in the custody of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Detention Center.
Metz was booked on charges including possession of meth, tampering with physical evidence, obstruction of governmental operations, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
