Officers are currently searching for a suspect after shots were fired at a judge’s home Friday night.

The Poinsett County Sheriff stated that the night of Aug. 23rd at around 8:33 p.m., the 911 center received a call from Judge Ron Hunter saying that an unidentified man was threatening him on his property.

Law enforcement was dispatched to the scene but were unable to find the individual.

At 9:33 p.m., the judge’s wife called 911 again to report that someone had fired shots at their home.

Deputies arrived shortly after the call, and while speaking with the Judge, an unknown person began shooting at them.

As the deputy informed dispatch that shots had been fired, additional law enforcement arrived, the shooter then started firing toward the responding officers. No injuries were reported.

Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, Harrisburg Police Department, Jonesboro Police Department, and Arkansas State Police were all involved in the incident.

The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for the individual responsible for shooting, asking the public for assistance.
