An Arkansas foster care volunteer has been sentenced to 28 years in prison after being guilty of child rape.

A Cleburne County jury on Wednesday found Ryan Jacob Armstrong, age 34 of Concord guilty of rape.

Armstrong was sentenced to 336 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Armstrong was also found guilty of distributing, possessing, or viewing sexually explicit conduct involving a child, he was sentenced to 36 months in the ADC for this offense, it will run concurrently.

Armstrong will be required to register as a sex offender.

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office received a tip in September 2022, of suspected sexual indecency with a child.

CCSO detectives interviewed the victim, obtained search warrants of Armstrong’s cell phones, computers, and gaming consoles.

Court documents stated, detectives found “multiple photographs” on Armstrong’s phone of young children.

A warrant was used on June 8, 2023, for Armstrong’s arrest and set his bond at $150,000.

Armstrong was a volunteer caregiver with The Call, a local foster care provider, he was also a martial arts instructor in the Concord area.
