Greene County deputies along with ASP troopers were dispatched to Hwy 49 between Marmaduke and the Clay County line on Sunday for a fatal crash that shut down Hwy 49 according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a ASP preliminary crash report, Austin Dollar, age 44 of Rector, was driving north on Hwy 49. Another vehicle was driving behind Dollar’s vehicle when he began to slow down and pull onto the shoulder and was struck in the rear by that vehicle.
The report states Dollar’s vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch along the east side of the road.
The report says the second vehicle rotated before rolling over and coming to a rest on the roadway facing south.
The report said Dollar died in the crash and a passenger, who was a minor, was injured and taken to NEA Baptist.
