Sharp County officials are reporting that in July an investigation was started into drug trafficking stemming from an inmate at the Sharp County Jail.

The operation called “Operation Jail Mail,” involved investigators monitoring hundreds of hours of inmate phone calls, video calls, and text messaging.

On August 6th Agents with the 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force, Sharp County Sheriff’s Office Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office,  Black Rock Police (including BRPD K-9) and the Arkansas State Police executed a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling from Memphis that resulted in the arrest of Randy Mitchell of Williford and a juvenile for trafficking meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, officers discovered approximately 8 ounces of meth.

Investigators then executed a search warrant at a residence in Ozark Acres, resulting in the arrest of Linda Kinsey of Williford who was charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons, theft by receiving, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges have been filed against Randy Mitchell for possession of meth greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams and illegal manufacturing of liquor.

Also charged in the investigation was Joseph Mitchell an inmate at the Sharp County Jail with conspiracy to traffic meth and unlawful use of a communication device.

Officials seized 282 grams of meth, 9 firearms, $1,452 in cash, and one vehicle.
