We were contacted on Tuesday by a local business in Black Rock that says they’ve been scammed out of several thousand dollars and identified the scammer as Thomas Wayne Ashcraft of Cave City.
We then spoke with Black Rock Police Chief Bryan Archer who confirmed he was currently working on a case file to present to the prosecutors office on this case and confirmed Ashcraft was a person of interest.
Ashcraft is a habitual offender with nearly 30 arrest in Lawrence, Sharp, Craighead, Woodruff, Jackson, Independence, Mississippi, Poinsett, White, Clay and Greene Counties.
The owner’s of Eddie’s Bait Shop in Black Rock are currently working with law enforcement but want other businesses to be aware.
