A routine traffic stop on Saturday night ends with a drug arrest after a positive alert from the Black Rock K-9.
Shortly before 10 pm on Saturday Black Rock Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired license on Hwy 63 near the Dollar General Store.
The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license, no liability insurance and the vehicle tags were expired. Jude, the Black Rock Police K-9 was deployed and immediately alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
Alvin Earle Stokes, 07/06/1977 of Piggott was arrested and charged with Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving On Suspended, No Liability Insurance and Expired Vehicle Tags.
Stokes was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
The vehicle was towed by Cook’s Towing of Walnut Ridge.
