A Smithville man was arrested on Saturday after an encounter with Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies on Lawrence 155 around 11:35am.
Adam Finley was arrested by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies but refused to identify himself or a small child that was with him. Finley also began to struggle with the officer and refused to be placed in the patrol vehicle.
A Black Rock Police Officer responded to assist the officer after repeated attempts from Lawrence County Dispatch to reach him by radio and by phone.
Once the BRPD officer arrived on scene, Finley was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center by deputies.
Black Rock police stayed with the juvenile while other deputies familiar with the suspect and child notified the child’s mother in Walnut Ridge about the incident.
DHS workers were also notified about the incident.
Finley was arrested and charged with DWI, Endangering The Welfare Of A Minor and Refusing To Submit To Arrest.
Finley will have a bond hearing next week.
