From Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder:
Never the same day twice….
The one thing about a career in law enforcement is that you never have the same day twice. Today was no exception for Deputies Russ Latimer and Kaleb Pitcher.
Dispatch received a call regarding a bird of prey being stuck in a basketball goal net at a residence right around the corner from the sheriff’s office on Fairview Rd. Deputies Latimer and Pitcher were close by and responded. Sure enough, a young red-tailed hawk had gotten entangled in the net and could not free itself. After a little finagling, Deputy Latimer was able to free the hawk from the basketball goal without any harm to the hawk or himself. The hawk was able to fly away under its own power, and hopefully away from any other basketball goals in the area.
Great job Russ and Kaleb!
