Elmer Anderson Swift, of Hoxie, AR passed away on June 23, 2024, at the Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas, AR.
Born December 3, 1927, in Williford, AR, he was the son of the late Elston Anderson and Cecil Effie (Hibdon) Swift. He loved visiting with his family, carpentry work, tending to his garden, and his dog, Jake.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his 7 children, Evylene Nichols Swift, baby son Hervil, son Emanuel, his second wife Tressie Gates Swift, granddaughter Sheryl Lynn Swift, great granddaughter Rachel Rooker, stepdaughter Phyllis Hess, daughter-in-law Gail Swift, and three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his children, Elbert (Joy) Swift of Pocahontas, AR, Orvis Swift (Redda) of Hoxie, AR, Cloyis (John) Daughhetee of Walnut Ridge, AR, Ella Dean (Joe) Gonzales of Parker, AZ, Amelia (Terry) Rogers of Paragould, AR, Sheron Swift of Pocahontas, AR and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. and go until the service starts at 12 P.M. with William Tunstall officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Levi Smith, Eli Smith, Eric Swift, Acea Swift, Eddie Swift. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Midgett, Mark Rogers, and Austin Radcliff. Burial will be at Jones Ridge Cemetery in Delaplaine, AR.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks and gratitude to the Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas, AR for the excellent care, compassion, and cheerful and loving interactions with our dad, Elmer, received from the awesome staff. Thank you for going above and beyond the expectations in your work.
After burial services the family will receive friends and visitors at Skaggs Church of Christ, 1803 Redbud, Pocahontas, AR.
Someone will be at the church if anyone wishes to drop off any food.
