Nearly a year after Corey Garrett Jr was arrested for the July 2023 shooting in Pocahontas, Third Judicial Circuit Judge Rob Ratton sentenced Corey Garrett, Jr. to 96 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for possession of a firearm by certain persons, Garrett, Jr. was also given 180 months of SIS for three counts of first-degree battery.

Garrett, Jr. also has to pay all court costs in $ 100 monthly installments within 60 days of his release from ADC.

Garrett Jr. was arrested on July 8 2023 following a shooting in the 1800 block of Archer Street In Pocahontas.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered a gunshot victim with three gunshot wounds.

The suspect was located and arrested after investigators connected him with the shooting.
