The first “Shots Fired” call was received around 6:13 pm in regards to a shooting that occurred in the Walmart parking lot on Highland Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered a victim with an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot. The victim had what appeared to be a wound to his left leg, and officers applied a tourniquet before he was transported to an area hospital. The investigation on this shooting is still ongoing.
The second “Shots Fired” call occurred around 7:04 pm in the 2500 block of East Johnson. Officers arrived on the scene and did not locate a victim. A short time later, a gunshot victim arrived at an area hospital, and police responded to that location and began an investigation into this incident.
