Bobby Gerald Rutledge, 86 of Walnut Ridge, died May 12, 2024, in the St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born June 30, 1937, in the Richwoods Community, son of the late, Clyde Lehman Rutledge and Nola Mae Wells. He was united in marriage to Vera Evelyn Lamb on September 7, 1957. Bobby was a hard worker and dabbled in many businesses; he owned and operated his own trucking service hauling gravel and grain, Bob’s Used Cars, Bob’s Used Tire Shop and Pool Hall, The Tack and Saddle Shop, and the Corner Café in Hoxie. He was active in the Gospel Tones group traveling four states wide singing praise. He was a member of the Oak Hill General Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn in 2014; a son, Mitchell Rutledge; one brother; and four sisters.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Rutledge Minard (Gary McGonigal) of Portia; a son, Gregory Allen Rutledge (Kim) of Hoxie; eight grandchildren, Michael Minard (Kara), Holly Smith (Jay), Devin James, Shawn Baggs (Whitney), Cortley Rutledge, Jordan Rutledge; Blake Passalaqua (Ashley), and Chad Rutledge; a sister-n-law, Lily Mae Whitmire of Paragould; and a special friend, Bonnie Taylor of Hoxie; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel. Pallbearers will be his family and friends. Interment will follow in the Manning #1 Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M.
