Police have arrested a Pocahontas man identified as 19 year old Connor Grist, he is accused of killing 18-year-old Justin Bateson of Ravenden Springs. The shooting occurred in Paragould.
According to police on Thursday, March 14th, Grist was arrested by Pocahontas police and taken to the Greene County Detention Center where the suspect is being held on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and possession of firearms by certain persons.
Authorities received a 911 call from neighbors reporting a deceased person in the 200 block of Magnolia Drive around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12th.
Bateson was found deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
The two were seen together on March 11th around 7:30pm according to authorities. Grist returned a short time later without Bateson.
Grist is a convicted felon and was on probation.
A search warrant was served on March 14, at the home where Grist was staying, investigators discovered Bateson’s property at the home.
Grist is currently being held without bond.
