From the JPD:
“Jonesboro Police and first responders are currently working a shooting incident on Burke Avenue.

Shortly before 5 am, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Burke. Multiple gunshot wound victims were located on scene. One person was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. Officers were notified about four other individuals who were taken to the hospital by personal vehicles.

At the time of this post, it is known that three people are deceased.

Burke street will be closed for several hours to traffic, we ask that you avoid the area. More information will be released as the investigation continues.”

We will continue to update as information is released by Jonesboro Police.

10:45am Update:

Jonesboro Police Investigators continue to interview witnesses about the early morning shooting that occurred at a private party on Burke Avenue.

One female, who was known to the suspect, was wounded during the confrontation. Another female and male, also known by the suspect, were shot and killed. The suspect was later identified as the third person, who is also deceased. Three other victims were wounded and had no known connection to the suspect.

Police believe there is no active threat to the community. This is still an ongoing investigation.
