James (Jim) L. Thielemier, 84, of Pocahontas departed this life on Wednesday February 28, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Jim was born to the late Joe Thielemier and Marie Pfeffer Thielemier on April 29, 1939, in Pocahontas. Jim was the plant manager for Magee for 34 years before retirement. Jim was also in the St. John Choir. Jim loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and sitting on the porch singing and writing poems. He also loved raising Beagles which was his specialty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe, and Marie Thielemier; wife, Joyce Thielemier; brothers, David Thielemier and Bill Thielemier; sister, Janet Peters of Engelberg; daughter-in-law, Sonja Thielemier.
He is survived by his children, Scott Thielemier of Imboden, Sandy (Scottie) Matthews of Ravenden, Vicky (Michael) Bass of Searcy and Teresa (Tim) Tarantino of Biggers; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; siblings, Regina Baltz of Pocahontas, Mary Lou O’Donnell of Engelberg, Mike Thielemier of Engelberg, Judy Shanlever of Fayetteville, Rose Baltz of Pocahontas, and Patrick Thielemier of Pocahontas; Special dog Sammy.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 5, 2024, at St. John Catholic Church with Father Stephen Elser officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Those honored to serve are pallbearers are Craig Bass, Chase McCandless, Jeff Thielemier, Darrin Thielemier, Mat Anderson, Trevor Anderson, Jeramy Matthews, and Daniel Tarantino.
