Notice is hereby given that the Lawrence County Election Commissioners have set the following polling places for the 2024 Preferential Primary on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Polls will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Precinct Polling Place

Early/ Absentee Lawrence County Courthouse

Early voting will be held in the Conference Room of the Lawrence County Courthouse beginning on Tuesday, February 20th, and end on Monday, March 4th. Voting will be from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday, and on Saturday February 24th and March 2nd from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, Early voting at the Courthouse will end on Monday March 4th at 5:00 pm.

35.30 Mills School Tax
Thee total tax rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax (the “Statewide Uniform Rate”)to be collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No. 74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As provided as provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by this School District and available for maintenance and operations of schools in this District. The total proposed school tax levy of 35.30 mills includes 27.50 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation and 7.80 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by debt service millage may be used by the District for other school purposes

The total proposed school tax levy of 35.30 mills represents the same rate presently being collected.

SLOAN-HENDRIX SCHOOL DISTRICT
36.93 Mills School Tax
Thee total tax rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax (the “Statewide Uniform Rate”)to be collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No. 74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As provided as provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by this School District and available for maintenance and operations of schools in this District. The total proposed school tax levy of 36.93 mills includes 25.00 and 11.93 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by debt service millage may be used by the District for other school purposes.

The total proposed school tax levy of 36.93 mills represents the same rate presently being collected.

Absentee processing will be conducted in the conference room of the Lawrence County Courthouse on Tuesday March 5th, between the hours of 5:00P.M.- 7:30P.M.
Election Day processing and tabulating will be Election Night after the Polls close
In the Courtroom at the Lawrence County Courthouse.

The election will be certified at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in the Office of the County Clerk.
