A Fulton County man accused of shooting and killing his wife in Fulton County has been found not guilty by a jury in her murder.
Harvey John Taylor, age 51, the husband of former Fulton County Sheriff’s Department employee Kristy Taylor was charged with first degree murder in her 2022 shooting death.
On Friday a jury found him not guilty of the crime after a week long trial. Friday both the prosecution and defense rested and late Friday the jury delivered the not guilty verdict.
A second suspect identified as 52-year-old Thomas G. Sanchez is also charged in the death of Kristy Taylor, Sanchez has yet to go to trial.

A suspect has been arrested in the July 2022 murder of a Fulton County Sheriff’s Department employee.
Fulton County Sheriff Jake Smith confirmed his department has made an arrest in the murder of sheriff’s department employee Kristy Taylor in July. Taylor’s husband Harvey John Taylor and Thomas Sanchez were arrested and charged with first degree murder in the case. Taylor was arrested last night.
Because Kristy was an employee of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center.
Sanchez is being extradited to Arkansas from Texas where he was arrested a few weeks ago by US Marshals. Bond has been set at $1 million for both men.
The Arkansas State Police began the investigation into the shooting of Kristy Marie Taylor, 57 who was killed outside her home on July 9.
Family members discovered her lying outside her home on Farmwood Road near Elizabeth around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 and made a call to dispatch. At first a witness close to the family said they did not notice any blood. First responders and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the scene. Taylor was apparently shot.
Taylor had worked for the Fulton County Sheriff’s office for about 9-10 years and was also a bus driver for the Viola School District and was well loved in the community.

Authorities say the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is conducting an investigating after a Fulton County sheriff’s employee was found shot to death outside her home.
According to a release from ASP, Kristy Marie Taylor age 57 was discovered around 6 p.m. Saturday evening July 9th, on the driveway of her home on Farmwood Road in Salem Arkansas.
According to the Arkansas State Police, she died of a gunshot wound.
Taylor’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has requested ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division to investigate Taylor’s death.
