Garrod Shaine Huckaby, 57 of Bono; died January 20, 2024, in the St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born May 29, 1966, in Tupelo, MS; son of the late, Gaston Milton Huckaby, and Nina Ruth Shirley. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and received his bachelor’s degree from Old Miss and master’s from Arkansas State in Education. He was a popular and well-loved Science teacher for seventeen years, working at Williford, Black Rock, Hoxie, Annie Camp Junior High in the Jonesboro school district. He was united in marriage to Kim Dawson on May 19, 2001. He enjoyed spending time with is family, friends and mainly his grandchildren, whom called him Captain.
Survivors include his wife, Kim of the home; a son, Blake (Ashley) Snow of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Malachi, Isaiah, and Annaleigh; his mother, Nina Kitchen of Tupelo, MS; a sister, Cindy (Ray) Griffith of Front Royal, VA; two brothers, Gaston (Kim) Huckaby of Tupelo, MS, and Joe (Mary) Huckaby of Guntown, MS; six special nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service with Military Honors will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 12 P.M. in the New Life Cathedral in Hoxie with Bro. David Craig and Bro. Chuck Fitzgerald officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and interment will follow in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 P.M. till 7 P.M.
