Carl Stanley “Stan” Duckworth Jr., 69 of Lakeland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on January 8, 2024, in the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN.
Born July 22, 1954, in Flint, Michigan; son of the late Carl Stanley Sr. and Helen Marie Fish Duckworth. Stan graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1972. He graduated from UAMS in 1976 and began his career as a Pharmacist, and later in his career the owner and operator of the Sexton Pharmacy in Walnut Ridge. Stan married the love of his life, Patricia June Ryan, on April 15, 1977. He enjoyed helping his fellow citizens and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He had a love of travel and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also loved supporting his Razorbacks and calling the Hogs.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia June of the home; his daughter, Kelly (Ryan) Sly of Lakeland, TN; a son, Andrew (Addison) Duckworth of Fort Worth, TX; three grandsons, Jimmy and Jackson Williams, and Robert Sly all of Lakeland, TN; two brothers, Ralph (Edith) Duckworth of Jakarta, Indonesia, Roger (Angie) Duckworth of Walnut Ridge; two sisters, Marie (Jim) Gates of Pocahontas, and Paula (Jerry) Decker of Hoxie; and many other relatives and friends.
Catholic Mass will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11 A.M. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Walnut Ridge. Friends of all denominations are welcome to attend. Pallbearers will be Matt, David, Nikolos Ryan, James Gates, Blaine Liscomb, and Spencer Decker. Honorary Pallbearers are Jonathan, Ryan, Brenda, and Addie Duckworth, Jimmy and Jackson Williams, Brianna Walls, Robert and Ryan Sly. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 P.M. till 7 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel in Hoxie.
