From the Greene County Sheriff’s Office:
Christopher Cody Worsham, age 38 of Greene County, is currently in custody in the Shelby County, TN jail and awaiting extradition back to Greene County. His charges include:

  • Domestic Battering in the First Degree (Class B Felony)
  • Theft of Property (Class C Felony)
  • Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member (Class D Felony)

The probable cause affidavit reads as follows:

“On December 31st, 2023, deputies were dispatched to a home on County Road 707 in reference to a stabbing. While enroute to the scene dispatch relayed information to deputies that the suspect had fled the scene and had also been stabbed. The Paragould Police Department was able to locate the vehicle and conduct a felony traffic stop with it on Hwy 412 in front of Tractor Supply. The occupant of that vehicle had been stabbed and was needing life-saving support. He was identified as the potential defendant Christopher Cody Worsham.

At the scene on County Road 707, one person was suffering from multiple stab wounds and required immediate care by medical staff. Upon talking to the son who was on scene at the house he stated that his half-brother (potential defendant Christopher Worsham) had come to the house that morning to talk to their dad. He stated that his brother was “talking out of his head” and was not acting right. At some point in the conversation between Christopher and his dad, he produced a sword and began to stab his dad from behind. To stop the attack the half-brother retrieved his pocket knife and stabbed Christopher. During the exchange, the half-brother suffered a small laceration to the foot. Christopher then fled the scene in a 2022 Jeep Renegade. During the investigation, it was uncovered the Jeep Renegade had been stolen from an address in the city. Both the victim and potential defendant were airlifted to a hospital for further treatment.”

As this incident is still under investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
