The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 29th, 2023, at approximately 11:05 am the Corning Police notified a Clay County Deputy that the truck stop north of Corning at the Missouri/Arkansas State line had called about a theft.
They said a male subject came into the truck stop and stole several items, stating the subject fled in a Black Denali with Missouri license headed south on US 67.
The deputy was waiting at the stop light in Corning when they noticed a Black SUV coming south passing vehicles in the northbound lane of traffic.
The deputy-initiated pursuit when they went through the stop light. The vehicle almost hit a vehicle when it went around the corner at Ermert Funeral Home headed east on US 62. When the vehicle crossed the railroad tracks on US 62 it went airborne and came to a stop at Watson Oil Company. The driver ran on foot, jumped 2 fences at Watson Oil and ran down a ditch behind Watson Oil. Corning P.D. went down 1st street and located and took the subject into custody.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and the stolen items from the truck stop were recovered plus other illegal items.
Transported to the Clay County Detention Center were 36-year-old Bryan Thomas Arnold of Paragould he was booked in on the following charges. Felony fleeing, Fleeing on Foot, Careless Prohibited Driving, Possession of Controlled Substance Meth Schedule IV less than 28 grams, Possession of Controlled Substance Marijuana Schedule VI less than 4 oz, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Also, transported to the Clay County Detention Center.
37-year-old Krystal Renee Arnold of Paragould. She was booked on the following charges. Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule IV LT 28 Grams (pills), Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule VI LT 4oz Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
