Van Douglas Doyle, 85 of Lynn, passed from this life, December 28, 2023 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Walnut Ridge. He was born November 21, 1938, in Coffman to the late Edgar Davis and Pearl (Ballard) Doyle. He was united in marriage to Janice (Harbin) Doyle on December 26, 1961, in Walnut Ridge. He was of the Baptist belief. Van was a road master for Burlington Northern Railroad for 26 years and served as mayor of Lynn for 22 years. He also served as president of the Lynn schoolboard, was a cattle rancher, and enjoyed elk hunting with his hunting buddies in Colorado. He enjoyed several years of watching his grandchildren play sports. Van proudly served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Van was preceded in death by siblings, Bob Doyle, Billy Edd Doyle, Joanne Trawick, Louise Hilbert, and Margarite Mcroy.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of the home; sons, Terry Van Doyle (Royetta) of Lynn, Billy Robert Hampton Doyle (Lana) of Denton, David Edgar Doyle (Mindy) of Strawberry, Randy Glen Doyle (Amanda) of Denton; grandchildren, Breanna (Dustin), Chris (Brittany) Miranda (Trevor), Zach (Shani), Dean, Garrison, Maddie, Kortni (Caleb), Denton, Jaxton, Maci, Blaine, and Kelsi; great-grandchildren, Easton, Newt, Kree, Gracie Jo, Drake, Oliver, Avery, Jett, and Talen. 

Visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral services immediately following at 12 p.m.  Greg Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery in Lynn under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. 

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Doyle, Steve Doyle, Evan Doyle, Walt Davis, Ronnie Malone, Danny Morgan, J.L. Parker, Mica Vance, and Darrel Smith.
