Elaine Kegley Gilliam, 94 of Hoxie, died December 13, 2023, in the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born August 2, 1929, in Clay County; daughter of the late, Alfred and Ola Goodwin Kegley. She was united in marriage to the Reverand D. Leon Gilliam in 1947. He was a North Arkansas Conference of Methodist Churches Minister which Mrs. Elaine helped serve, do administrative work and consulting. She was also a homemaker, and a wedding consultant. She was an accomplished Seamstress and Quilt maker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a son-n-law, John Holt; three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Holt of Hoxie; a son, Johnny Gilliam (Sara) of Hoxie; four grandchildren, Matt Gilliam, Sonya Dry (Eric), Greg Holt, Stephanie Surmon (Bob); five great grandchildren, Sydney Dry, David Dry, Hunter Holt (Sara), John Surmon, and Daniel Surmon; one great great granddaughter, Nora Holt; two nephews, Thelbert Holifield of Imboden and Devon Harris (Barbara) of Piggott; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 3 P.M. in the Hoxie United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeremy Hopper officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Gilliam, Eric Dry, Hunter Holt, L.K. Holt, Eddie Wright, and Lonnie Smith. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2 P.M. till 3 P.M. on Saturday.
