Linda Gaye Stacy, age 72, passed away October 27, 2023, in Springdale, Ar. Born on February 13, 1951, to Charles and Rowena Dickson, Linda graduated from Sloan Hendrix High School in 1968. She married Bill Stacy, her lifelong love, in June 1968 and dedicated herself to raising their sons. Linda cherished her family, finding immense joy in their company. Her close bond with her mother led her to cut short her honeymoon, missing her “mamma” dearly.
An avid supporter of her sons’ high school sports, Linda fearlessly advocated for them, even challenging referees when necessary. Later in life, she continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Arkansas State University in 1995, followed by a Master of Business Administration. Linda had a fulfilling career as a business teacher in Black Rock and Pocahontas Public Schools, concluding as a Business/Technology Professor at Black River Technical College.
A committed member of Imboden First United Methodist Church, Linda played the piano during services. She also engaged in various activities with the Red Hat Society in Pocahontas. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Billy Keith Stacy. Survivors include her sons Brian Stacy of Pocahontas and Bobby (Michelle) Stacy of Springdale, along with grandchildren Branigan, Margie, Billy Stacy of Pocahontas, Michala Stacy of Cabot, Benjamin and Brant Stacy of Springdale, and six great grandchildren. Her brothers Larry Dickson of Imboden, Eugene (Patty) Dickson of Imboden, and Ray (Melissa) Dickson of Pocahontas also survive her.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Imboden First United Methodist Church, followed by a graveside service at Hope Cemetery at 2:30 pm in Imboden. All services are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
